Spring 2000 Haulout
March-April, 2000
March & April 2000 was spent giving Endurance a major haulout.

The original goal of the haulout was to stop the leak in the transom.

But that soon expanded to replacing the garboards...

And replacing the laminated yellow cedar floor timbers with purpleheart floor timbers

And replacing the rotten fir maststep with a purpleheart maststep.
Which required pulling the mast...

But after a month of labor, Endurance was looking sharp with new garboards...

In all the Y2K haulout accomplished:
- Removed cement from bilge.
- Replaced yellow cedar floor timbers with purple heart.
- New purple heart maststep.
- New western redcedar garboards.
- Repair hull worn by fender.
- New paint on hull and mast.
